KALA Delegation Meet Indian Ambassador :
Kerala Art Lovers Association (KALA-Kuwait) delegation
requested the Hon. Ambassador of India in Kuwait Mr. M
Ganapathi to initiate the request to Government of
India to raise the number of Embassy officials in par
with the rising Indian population in Kuwait. Currently
the Indian population is more than 550,000 and is
continuously growing. In spite of this growth in the
Indian population, an appropriate proportionate
increase in the strength of the Embassy Officials is a
far cry. This has resulted in inadequate functioning
of certain portfolios in the Embassy. KALA delegation
comprising of Thomas Mathew Kadavil (President),
Naganadhan.R (Gen. Secretary) K. Vinod (Treasurer),
Binieesh Babu & Mohan Vadanapally (Joint Secretaries),
Sajitha Scaria and Santha R Nair, introduced the new
office bearers to the Hon Ambassador and submitted a
memorandum to bring issues related to the Indian
community in Kuwait to his attention. The delegation
appreciated the Ambassador for his efforts to maximize
the quality with the limited resources available.
The issues discussed are to introduce a “Suggestion
Box” in the consular section to have an effective feed
back from the public, to improve to provide faster
services in the VISA attestation facility of the
Embassy, Enhancement of the community welfare
activities, to introduce an Indian Lawyer to mediate
more effectively on the current issues in reviewed by
the Legal Cell, A common area for Indians to gather to
share and enrich our great cultural values should be
identified in consultation with our host Government,
etc. There are hundreds of people coming daily to
Embassy for different consular services and they were
exposed to the extremities of weather. KALA-Kuwait
requested the Embassy to build a shade/shelter for the
queuing people at the entrance of the Embassy’s
councilor section.
KALA further pointed out that unscrupulous VISA
rackets are functioning in India as well as by Indians
in Kuwait and requested for strong measures to be
taken to book these culprits both in India and in
Kuwait and we request His Excellency to bring this to
immediate attention of Government of India.
KALA also expressed deep concern over the present
plans to hike in rents and implementation of the
recently passed New House Rent Policy which will lead
to a very grim situation and we request His Excellency
to raise our concerns though suitable platforms.
Regarding the issue of Indian Community Schools, KALA
pleaded the Ambassador to put his utmost efforts to
relocate the schools to safe guard the interest of the
parents and 6000 plus students who are facilitated by
this Community school.
KALA delegation explained their proposed activities
for the current year and Honorable Ambassador
congratulated KALA’s all activities and wished every
success for future endeavors. Top
